Franklin Pierce University Celebrates the Inauguration of President Peter Eden

Franklin Pierce University officially welcomed Dr. Peter Eden as its seventh president during an inauguration ceremony held on Friday, March 7, at Spagnuolo Hall on the Rindge Campus. The event brought together faculty, staff, students, trustees, alumni, and community members to celebrate a new chapter in the University’s history.
The ceremony began with an invocation from Derek Scalia ’05, followed by a welcome from Chair of the Board of Trustees Steve Duprey. Community remarks were offered by Professor of History Mary Kelly, Ph.D., Director of Athletics Matthew Johnson, and student Ryan Fitzpatrick ’25, as well as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Catherine M. Paden, Ph.D.
The program also featured a heartfelt musical performance of the Franklin Pierce Alma Mater by Alexis Massey ’26 and LyNeta Brand ’27, accompanied on electric guitar by Nickolaus Crist ’27, adding a personal and meaningful touch to the celebration.
In his inaugural address, President Eden shared his vision for the University’s future—one rooted in collaboration, transformation, and a steadfast focus on student success.
“Students, we are here because of you,” he said. “It’s all about student success, however measured. Everything we do is for you.”
The event marked a moment of unity and optimism for Raven Nation, underscoring the University's enduring commitment to academic excellence, inclusivity, and community engagement.
